There are now 159 cases of measles in Texas, with 22 hospitalized and the first death from measles in the US since 2003. Last week, Texas officials requested federal assistance, and a rapid response team from CDC, known as an Epi-Aid, has been deployed.

2 lies I hear from the right about the federal government:

"The federal government has gotten so bloated!"

The federal government is the same size it was when Kennedy was president.

"Reagan was the last president to cut the federal government!"

There were MORE fed employees when he left office.

The goal is to terrorize federal workers into quitting. That’s it. Constant changes. Canceling work from home then closing offices. Laying off probationary employees. It’s designed to break the government. Then privatize it for profit. It’s not efficiency. It’s collapse. Only peasants will suffer.

Kudos to Gov. Janet Mills of Maine for standing up to Trump. He threatened loss of federal funds for her state simply because it allows trans girls to play in sports. She said, “See you in court.”

Trump is a weak, shallow, callous leader who wants desperately to be a despot. #BullyPolPot

ICONIC: Yosemite National Park workers just hung an upside-down American flag—THOUSANDS of feet up on El Capitan. That’s not decoration. That’s a distress signal. They’re telling us the country is in danger. Are you paying attention?

Amen to that.
I think it would make a big difference in our health if we banned Pharma ads from America like the rest of the world does.

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank.

I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history.

Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

A $1.5 million grant — awarded in 2023 for prairie/wetland restoration — has been frozen by the feds. There are small biz and nonprofits owed $450k in reimbursements.

Work is paused but “nature isn’t on furlough” and efforts to remove invasives could be undone.
