Well done to all who came to our out to defend the Sandpiper Hotel in the cold

The far-right mobilisation was small, quiet and demoralised

We danced and sang, heard powerful speeches and showed our #solidarity for 3hrs

Many warm messages of thanks from refugees thanking us for our presence

Despite SYP allowing the Neo-Nazi march and imposing a Section 14 order banning our assembly at Sheffield Cathedral, we condemn their actions and will proceed with the anti-racist protest at the Cathedral this Saturday.

SYP ignores community leaders, putting refugees at risk. We defend our city!
SHAME ON SY POLICE! DEFEND OUR COMMUNITY! WHY WE’RE STILL ASSEMBLING AT SHEFFIELD CATHEDRAL TO STOP NAZI UKIP (Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM) We condemn the disgraceful decision by South Yorkshire Police to allow Neo-Nazi UKIP to march through our city threatening and intimidating asylum seekers in their homes. ​The decision to impose a Section 14 order on Sheffield’s proud and diverse anti-racist movement puts refugees, asylum seekers and their supporters at risk of violence. ​They have ignored an open letter from 25 local organisations, 16 elected councillors and 31 community leaders calling for UKIP’s permission to march to be revoked. (Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM) The decision to restrict our right to defend the community shows that SY Police have learnt nothing from the racist violence outside the Holiday Inn at Manvers, Rotherham in August 2025. ​SY Police conditions state that anti-racists cannot assemble at Sheffield Cathedral. They are seeking to criminalise our solidarity. They are drawing equivalence between peaceful anti-racists and a political movement with a history of violence and bigotry. ​It is our view that anti-racist should still assemble at Sheffield Cathedral. ​(Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM) Thousands of leaflets, hundreds of posters have covered the city to advertise the protest. It would be impossible to guarantee that everyone planning to attend will be aware of SY Police conditions. ​It would be a dereliction of our duty of care to all those vowing to defend our city from fascists to move the protest at such short notice. ​We defended our community from the far right last Summer, and we intend to defend out community this Saturday. ​We are on the right side of history – we cannot go back to the 1930s. ​(Corner Logo: STAND UP TO RACISM)

Statement on Caerphilly By-Election Results Reform UK threw everything they had at this by-election — and they still lost. This result stands as a powerful testament to the dedication and determination of anti-racist campaigners and community activists across Caerphilly. Volunteers delivered thousands of leaflets, spoke directly with residents, and made clear the real dangers posed by Reform’s divisive politics. The defeat of Reform is a major victory for everyone committed to opposing racism and intolerance. The significance of this outcome cannot be overstated. Sincere thanks and congratulations go to all those who worked tirelessly to make it possible. But our work does not end here. The challenge ahead is not only to oppose Reform and other far-right movements, but to build a positive, inclusive, and genuinely anti-racist alternative that offers hope and unity. Stand Up to Racism urges everyone who shares these values to join us and continue the fight for equality and justice.

Well done to the 350+ anti-racists who came to defend the Sandpiper Refugee hotel on Sunday.

We faced a large far-right racist mob who spewed racist and misogynist abuse. We stood united against hate.
