Given an assignment to make a drawing opposite there normal style, my student (who typically makes realistic feminine art) drew this child like “Reclining Dude” as the antithesis of the “reclining nude” genre. There’s even a tech bro bearing gifts and dogs pooping everywhere. The kids are all right!

My advanced drawing students are experimenting with unconventional tools. This my example made by flicking a BBQ skewer in a puddle of paint. Next they will use their experimental tools and abstract mark making to communicate an action word. Gosh I love teaching this class!
