Roasted a chicken yesterday and put the pan drippings in the fridge to solidify. Took half the fat off and threw it away, scooped the rest of the fat to make a roux for gravy. Turned out perfect.

Behold my nuts! After many winters on this property I'm finally getting around to harvesting some black walnuts. It was a good year for them, the property is covered. I've got 2 more bins to finish washing but diabetes interrupted.

Made a spiced apple cake. The apples are still slightly firm. Turned out prefect even if my glaze went sideways.
