Potatoes in the slow cooker so that I can break down the rest of the chicken into a chicken vegetable stew, and made myself french toast for breakfast.

If you live in a small space during winter & you struggle to get sourdough cultures going - here's the secret: boiling water & a smaller space. A microwave or smaller cooler work. Just boil water every 2 hours & put it in next to the starter (not touching)
It will thrive in the warmth & humidity.

The hand pies are in the oven. Thinking I could have omitted the gravy and just dipped them after. I mean, I'm STILL going to dip them but if they cook weird that's what I'm going to change first.

Roast chicken hand pie filling ready and cooling. I'll add the gravy ice cold. Pie crust chilling and almost ready to roll out. I've never made anything like this. 🤣

Roasted a chicken yesterday and put the pan drippings in the fridge to solidify. Took half the fat off and threw it away, scooped the rest of the fat to make a roux for gravy. Turned out perfect.
