I should also be clear, I don’t believe that means journalism should become activism or should lower its standards - the opposite. But wedding yourself to a false concept like objectivity over the lives of the humans we cover brings into question why you actually do this job

This is not to misinterpret the value of fair reporting. This is to say that if an interpretation of objectivity is to remain completely detached from the human condition, then that is not necessarily work I feel I can trust
