Picked 'Days at the Morisaki Bookshop' and it's sequel for light year end reading. It was a fun pleasant read, nice way to end the year. Liked the books discourse more than the plot. Simple feel good books. In a dream like second hand bookstore setting.

I grew up in deep south of TN and my music knowlwdge starts and ends with Tamil film music. So Beatles to Michael Jackson to Freddie Mercury are all just quizzing answers to me.

I haven’t researched whether these plants came here via Europeans — any botany people want to weigh in? — , but they grow in parts of the Deccan plateau which have exactly the kind of semi-arid conditions and soil agave needs.

Yesterday I left the village at 9.00 AM, drove 400km through blinding rain and reached Chennai at 4.30 PM. And took a train back at 9 PM to be back in village by 6.00 AM today. Sometimes I surprise myself with the amount of travel I do.
