When I retire from teaching, I hope every day will feel like that. Right now my Sundays are spent preparing for the next school week. Making sure my Mom gets a visit. Doing other chores. If I had to go to church as well, I don't know how I would fit it in. Regular church goers get ALL the respect!

The oligarchs funding Trump, and Trump himself, are all-in on AI.

You might as well be driving a cybertruck. Philosophically and economically, when you use AI, you support Trump.

I love sitting in a parent meeting when they say "But little Johnnie told me you don't accept late work" and I can honestly say "Johnnie is lying to you."

This year I'm trying out 'Your final exam replaces your lowest test score, REGARDLESS.

I'm tired of A-level kids gaming the final with the bare minimum effort required to keep their A.

Agreed. I have plenty of rules and structure to encourage timely work. I just go SO TIRED of John, you have an IEP, this is ok, but, sorry George, you don't, so it's only worth 60%. Oh, there was a death in the family? Now it's OK again. It was exhausting.

YES! This is why, in my classroom, EVERYONE can turn in late work with no penalty. EVERYONE can access lecture notes 48 hours before the lecture. Many accommodations that started as part of an IEP made so much sense I just gave them to everybody.

I always sent my bone home (with plenty of leftover ham) with a certain guest and she always repaid me with split pea soup.

I try very hard to make sure all my images are real. But it makes me so sad when I put up a lovely authentic NASA-sourced pic of a nebula or planet, the kids always claim it's fake.

Yes to all this, but... smoked paprika!
I've given up on most pre-made seasoning mixes, and I make the above in small batches for my own air frying and roasting.
Still like my Montreal Steak seasoning though. It's coarse grind goodness is great on roast veggies!
