If you don't know what to pursue in life right now, pursue yourself. Pursue becoming the healthiest, happiest, most healed, most present, most confident version of yourself. Then the right path will reveal itself.

It has to start somewhere.
It has to start sometime.

What better place than here?
What better time than now?

Happy Juneteenth everyone! 🩵🥳
JUNETEENTH (6/19) celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S.
President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation in 1862, freeing enslaved African-Americans. In 1865, the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was adopted and abolished slavery. Joe Biden declared Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2021.

Trying my hand at doing a #painterly style for the first time. Kept each apple to a max of 30 brush strokes to practice my brush control.

Lots of room for growth, but it was an interesting study to do! Will definitely explore more 🎨

Lately I’ve been learning a lot about art history, and I want to know more! Who are your favourite #artists, and #painters through the ages? 👀

Buy the trinket. The frivolous item that serves no real function other than joy.

This is not a narrative on capitalism (of which I have many qualms with), but rather one of doing that what brings the 7-year old version of you glee.

I smile every time I pick up my journal, because of this sushi 🍣

No matter how many palette knives I try, this is the one I always come back to.

It’s been around since circa 2005, is my absolute favourite, and (since the company no longer exists) is simply irreplaceable to me + my #art.

Do you have a go to tool that you can’t create without?

Progress on my water lily acrylic #painting 🌱

First ever attempt at using #acrylic to paint something non-abstract. Still a long way to go till this #painting is near to finished, but pleased with the initial progress I’m making on this one 🎨

you are not a machine. you're a soul who needs music, connection, sunsets, laughter & small pockets of joy. prioritize them like your life depends on it, because it does

After solely using acrylic paint and doing abstract for nearly 20 years, #watercolour and more realism is a whole new medium and ballgame I’m learning.

Working on the contrast in my #art 🎨

Materials: Watercolour, and watercolour pencils on cold press paper.

Who are your favourite contemporary artists that work with #acrylic or #watercolour?

I’ve been on the lookout for some non-AI generated or digital work for inspiration and study 🎨 👀 #art

Take back your attention.
January 21, 2025 at 5:12 PM
There’s something so freeing about reclaiming your attention. I deleted TikTok, and FB, have time limits set for Reddit and IG, and muted anyone I don’t personally know.

Staying informed, but unplugging far more. So much extra time to invest into art, travel and other pursuits. Highly recommend 🥂
