An update St. Louis City traffic calming and/or enforcement:

I just watched six cars (including a 3rd District SLMPD SUV #196) blow past a school bus stopped on Jefferson — all going at full speed with the bus’s stop signs extended & lights on.

Do people not know to stop when a school bus stops?!

found out about this one from @chelseavossmerta.bsky.social over coffee this a.m. — go get chainsaw skills, STL! — and then use those to help in the ongoing recovery. <3

It also
- Ends Grad PLUS loans
- Ends UG subsidized loans
- Limits Parent PLUS loans to $50k total
- Eliminates all ICR repayment options
- Eliminates the ability to consolidate Parent PLUS loans into PSLF eligible loans
- Requires 15 credit hours per semester for full Pell Grants
Yes, the GOP budget guts Medicaid, SNAP and gives more tax breaks to the mega-rich — but it also:

- Lets Big Oil buy public land to drill
- 10 year ban on state AI regulations
- Tax break on gun silencers
- Restricts funding to nonprofits
- Defunds women's health organizations

So, if I attended a U.S. university for grad school and took out federal student loans only because of the existence of PSLF - the terms of which have been materially changed today by House GOP members - does this give me + others in my boat a legal basis to invalidate our student loans?

TIL that MO law does not require a bank to file a lien release after a car note has been paid off.

I paid off my car more than two years ago but I can’t sell it today because @wellsfargobank.bsky.social never filed its required paperwork with the state & has been holding it hostage.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the only person to serve more than two terms as U.S. president. Roosevelt’s violation of the two-term tradition prompted Congress and the states to turn the tradition into a formal matter of constitutional law. (via @us.theconversation.com)
Why does the U.S. have presidential term limits? The history of the 22nd Amendment
The rule that no president can serve more than two full terms became part of the U.S. Constitution in 1951, after President Franklin D. Roosevelt died.

A big part of being an alderperson in the City of St. Louis is filing legislation on a deadline.

If a candidate can't file their MEC reports on time & by the filing deadline, then you should consider this sign of how they may lead.

If a candidate has NEVER filed an MEC report on time, however....

Does anyone in STL have bricks that they're wanting to get rid of? 🧱

I need ~50 to finish a patio and would be happy to come take them off your hands!

I don’t think I’ve ever seen something as pathetic as Trump buying a Tesla to show oligarchy solidarity.

A billionaire propping up another billionaire while working families struggle to afford rent—this is exactly what’s wrong with our system. #TeslaTakeDown
Trump declares US citizens protesting Tesla are “garbage” and that if he catches you doing it he’s going to declare you a domestic terrorist. #3E #TeslaTakeDown

The Dept of Education may take down many sites soon including studentaid.gov

Folks should go to the website and download all their loan data (under "my activity" on the "My Aid" page), including docs related to loan consolidation, payment plan apps, FAFSA forms, and PSLF
