Hoover was blamed so harshly. In To Kill a Mockingbird they called carts people would push around with all of their belongings “Hoover carts” because they were newly homeless. It was like the “thanks Obama” of the 30s.

She is very Christian now and thinks that those types of movies are wholesome. She was recently on Pod Meets World podcast and spoke a little about it.
