I’ve always been intimidated by baking as following the recipe rarely works for me. Then it finally clicked - recipes = protocols, and thus likely require optimisation. I feel like I’ve just unlocked a dormant (and delicious) skill set 💪😋

Thoroughly enjoyed this mornings Women in STEMM Stroll from @iaccelerate.bsky.social. A wonderful opportunity to connect with the beautifully diverse network of women working in this space. Thank you @ecologee.bsky.social and @tamstutch.bsky.social for organising. 👶🏻 & 🐩 loved it too!

Traded the lab coat for hi-vis this weekend to help set up my dad’s stall for the Sydney Ceramics Market at Carriageworks. It’s been so inspiring seeing all the beautiful creations. Drop by and say hi if you’re in the neighbourhood.

This would be an absolute game changer. Australian medical replace been hanging on for dear life due to lack of funding, and the collapse of the American research sector only makes it worse. We need funding so we can deliver medical advancements for our communities

And we’re off! The first @molecularhorizons.bsky.social ECR Symposium is underway. This mornings session covered everything from nanobody applications to a signature for metastatic cancer and ALS biomarkers.

Been playing around with good old faithful SH SY5Y cells as we optimise some mass spec imaging sample prep methods. Keen to get these under the mass spec to see if we are moving in the right direction!

Disasters like the algal bloom in SA are becoming more and more frequent due to climate change.

Australia Institute research shows a climate disaster fund, paid for by big polluters, would save taxpayers tens of billions of dollars a year. #auspol

Went to continue reading some papers on NIH website and can no longer access them as the server can’t be found. Went back to X to see if there was anything circulating only to be met with what now seems to be a propaganda account 😳 I just want to finish reading my lipid papers!
