I suspect my mom's hospice nurse voted for 47.

My suspicion began a couple weeks ago when she mentioned not liking Musky because "we didn't vote for [him]."

Today, she asked if I heard they're going after Medicaid and Medicare. My mom's Hospice is from Medicare. /1

Past few days, my mom has been saying things like "thank you" and "okay". That may seem like nothing, but it's the most responsive she's been in over a year now.

Wondering if this is simply another micro seizure creating a temporary improvement or terminal lucidity. Just have to wait and see.

Help is out there.

Not tangible help. We're screwed. But at least we can laugh on the way.

This morning I had salted ramen for breakfast. I drank a bunch of Liquid IV.

I'm massively thirsty.

Srsly debating going to a vending machine for salty chips to quench my thirst.

Good news. Now is the anxious period where we wait to find out if we still have a government that respects the rule of law.
Judge orders nationwide preliminary injunction of anti-DEI executive orders.

"Plaintiffs’ irreparable harms include widespread chilling of unquestionably protected speech."

Our democratic republic is being mutilated by Republicans too cowardly to act. Our economy is going to take serious hits due to the mass fed layoffs, tariffs, etc. I know all this.

Things look terrible long term, and yet . . .

Parrot reddit would eviscerate me for allowing this interaction.

If they end medicare, I lose the respite support for my mom. I lose tge care worker who comes three times a week to feed my mom lunch while I work. I lose the nurse that checks on her each week. I lose supplies like diapers and wet wipes that hospice provides.

I just can't right now.

I have yet to experience a client who says, "i know my rights" or "i know the law" and then accurately state their rights or the law.

Biggest red flag ever.

I'm not complacent. I'm not indifferent. But I will not panic. What i can do in this moment is to get ready.

I'm cleaning. It may sound stupid, but it's what is needed. I won't be able to help others if my life/home is a disaster. Which, right now, it is.

I remember people saying there isn't the infrastructure for mass deportation so it won't happen.

I'm pretty sure they're gonna solve that problem by just killing people.

The new oder re Gitmo seems to confirm, that's the plan.
