Has a very strong and scary start but runs out of steam pretty early. It’s kind of funny how insistent this movie is that it takes place on 6th Avenue, Manhattan, USA while also looking absolutely nothing like that.

Scared the hell out of me as a kid and the blasts of color remain frightening but it really drags. Angela Lansbury in this movie though! Respectfully of course.

It’s a little one note and the minuscule budget is apparent but Corbin Bernsen is always a treat plus you get Ken Foree and an extremely young Mark Ruffalo. They get a lot of mileage out of the big mouth prop for closeups, that thing gets abused.
