Trying to get the garden into shape.

Happy Solstice! May the return of the light bring you happiness.

Planting onion sets and pulling weeds. It's above 70 F right now. Too warm for Dec 1st but I'll make the most of it.

We have a non-traditional Thanksgiving feast at our house. This year is cheese enchiladas, rice, refried beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, chips and salsas. Proud to have pulled some jalapenos from our garden. Make the day your own. Hope your day is filled with joy.

Snow in South Central Texas, February 2021, vs. a very warm fall, almost December 2024. Same yard. Wonder what the rest of the fall and winter will bring? Going to take advantage of this weather as long as possible.

Yup. I'm scared for myself, my family, and everyone else, really. I hope I'm overreacting. I'm going to put some of that existential terror into my garden. Sunshine, hard work, and fresh veggies will give me an outlet as we watch and wait.

Kids and plants are a natural fit! My students have built an amazing school garden. It SO fun to watch them dig, scream at bugs, water, and play with seeds.

Look to nature. I think my backyard garden will be my sanctuary. Do you still have your patio garden?
