HUH?? The term "Doge" has roots in the late Roman Empire. It refers to a title, and is most famously associated with the Republic of Venice, where the Doge of Venice was the elected head of state for over 1,000 years, from 697 to 1797.

IMO, the problems in USA are in root of the following:
1) Two party system, its "us against them"
2) Citizens United - money is the root of all evil
3) Digital courage - this is universal - in contentious times, the use of social media to express extreme political views go on without consequence.
