...so I've been a professional writer since I was 18, and I just applied for my UK state pension, so I have officially made it all the way through adulthood without ever having a day-job other than writing. Mostly genre fiction: SFFH, crime, etc.

I read the first chapter of THREE TWINS Monday just before bed because it was too late for Seanan’s novella. It made me want to binge the first three books but I think I’ll ration them because they promise to be a really enjoyable series. Our children are triplets too (our version of three twins). 😊

Triplets! That's magnificent, and also iconic. (The as-it-were First Family of the Chalet School starts with triplets [and goes on to have eleven children altogether].)

I’m lucky, my preorder arrived at my local bookshop last week, and I finished the bonus novella this morning. Compelling reading as usual.
Going back to the also riveting NeoG series, by @kbwagers.com for books 3 and 4.
After that, the Crater School series (trilogy?), by @chazbrenchley.bsky.social.

Huzzah! (Not a trilogy, though; there just happen to be three books out at the moment. The fourth is coming soonest, and more are on their way. I'm having far too much fun to, y'know, stop.)

Can confirm. At least two leagues here in Silicon Valley, almost entirely peopled with South Asians, who love their cricket sadly more than we do these days.

Am happy to don pads to hold up my end and bowl a few overs of spin at the other, but, I was, y'know, never very good...

I frame much of my discussion through analysis of works by @lauriejmarks.bsky.social & @chazbrenchley.bsky.social - 2 authors of queer fantasy whose work has recently been vital to how I've been thinking about the genre & what it's able to say about queerness and/or religion.

Coffee. Lots and lots of strong black coffee, darkest roast I can find. I'm a simple soul.
