Illustrating Austen will be arriving very soon and will stay for the summer season!
This display will be curated specially for Jane Austen's 250th anniversary, and will be seperated in two parts.

#OTD English novelist and poet Charlotte Brontë died in 1855. Charlotte was the eldest of the three Brontë sisters who lived into adulthood and whose works became landmarks in English literature.

Announcing our new opening hours!
From today until Sunday 30th March we are open Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm!

From the 1st March, RHS Members are welcome to visit using their membership cards. This allows free entry for an individual member or one free entry with joint membership.

This January we are open to visitors from Friday to Sunday, 10am until 3.30pm, with last entry to the House and Gardens being 3pm!

#OTD Maria Cosway, Italian-English painter, musician, and educator, died in 1838.
She worked in Europe, cultivating a large circle of friends and clients. She exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts, and commissioned the first portrait of Napoleon seen in England.
