I just realized, after reading Thud and going into the Wintersmith that these invisible forces are akin to the very thing that Pratchett felt invaded by. And he.fought.back. Like Vines, Weatherwax, and Achins, he never gave in to the dark side...

So I honor him by investing a colossal chunk of my free time on this. And I am enjoying myself, and I do cry too.
You see, I used to think that Pratrchett kept telling the same stories, especially that of invisible powers trying to take over the willful soul of a strong mind.

I knew Pratchett died of a degenerative neuropathy that progressively robbed him of his capacity to create, and you can sense his fears, anger, and sense of urgency in his later works. Like many creatives, I fear that like the plague, but it's something I may have to face one day...
