Our town hosted a hotel full of Afghans who we helped clothe & provide toys for. My council voted to provide new homes for those extended Afghan families choosingto stay here.

No because I'm spending my time fighting to keep A&E services at our hospital and preventing the loss of a dementia ward. I'm worrying about whether families in my ward have food to eat, a dry roof over their head. I have pensioners threatened by asb.

I didn't say we are the good guys. I said the usa caused this situation. Which they did. If we made a commitment to those men b4 they signed up we should help them IF it is now possible.

So have you lobbied MPs? Stood outside parliament with a banner? Written to a national paper? Got a petition going? Funded the return of a family?

On the contrary I have been careful not to do that. I understand the limitations of my role. But where I can I have delivered and been re elected as a result.

Because most Brits have little say in the matter. Do you? You clearly care alot. What are you doing about it?

I agree but it isnt 'we'. Its very specific politicians serving their own interests at the cost of others. Its quite possible for Cabinet to by pass Parliament so shecks and balances not in place.

Unfortunately those who represent us in Westminster have fewer scruples than most of us who would want to honour our commitments. Don't tar us all.
