Off the chart alarm about climate change from the largely student attendees at the annual Eco Fair at Furman University.

Six months after we endured Helene, there’s a catastrophic wildfire 22 miles from my house. It was started by negligent hikers but has been fueled by storm debris and unseasonably dry weather. Climate change is a threat multiplier.

A study by Nature Climate Change found 89% of the world’s population want their governments to “do more” to fix climate change. But this 89% don’t know that they are the overwhelming majority. Most other people on Earth want governments to take stronger climate action @coveringclimatenow.org

To be effective in my climate advocacy & avoid burnout, I decided this is the year I reclaim joy & connection.

I vowed to write poems, read physical books again & start a Zoom book club to reconnect with friends from afar. I also found a weekly art class.

Definitely feeling lighter 😊
