8. Death Valley by @melissabroder.bsky.social Stunningly beautiful weird little book about a woman who is dealing with a lot, goes to the desert, climbs into a cactus. Absolutely loved this one.

7. For Whom the Belle Tolls by @sea-ya-later.bsky.social Absolutely stunning. Couldn't have asked for anything better. I'm a huge fan of the tiktok series but you don't need to be to enjoy. Follows a woman who sets up a Help Desk in hell, makes friends with demons and deities. Shenanigans ensue.

6. The Foundation by @melindasalisbury.com This trilogy strikes fear into me as the parent of a tech-loving teen. I loved it. But better than anything I can say - my teen who hasn't wanted to read in over a year has picked up this series willingly and is enjoying it.

5. The Light and Shade of Ellen Swithin by @dgcwords.bsky.social This was a brilliant rollercoaster of a read. I loved it. Ellen is an absolute delight. A perfect read for anyone who has worked in a toxic office environment or daydreamed about unaliving an annoying coworker.

4. Quicksilver by Callie Hart. This started off reading like a standard romantasy, then it got REALLY good. I absolutely loved the second half of this book. There were so many twists and reveals and things that made me excited for the next book.

3. The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon (authors preferred text) brilliantly narrated by Alana Kerr Collins. I've read the original version of this and loved it; this revised edition is perfect. Cackled out loud at the line "get fucked you stretched weasel". Highly recommend.

2. A Language of Dragons by S F Williamson. Bletchley Park, politics and war with dragons. Everything is better with dragons. This book is also about control, morality and the power of language. An absolute banger.

1. What the River Knows by Isabel Ibanez. Uncovering ancient Egyptian artefacts with magic and a family that puts the "fun" in dysfunctional. Had an epilogue that left me screeching. I'll be needing that sequel now. Thanks.
