This is an excellent fact.
#Gladiator fact. Maximus’ trained fighting wolf, which battled alongside him in the forests of Germania, was an acting dog who also played the part of Robbie Jackson’s pet Wellard in the soap ‘Eastenders’.

We had an excellent visit to Beamish living museum yesterday. The staff and volunteers in the shops and houses were brilliant - friendly and informative. And we have loads more still to see on a return visit.

Delighted by this find while clearing out stuff at my parents' house: a torn page from the Croydon Advertiser 28 July 1989, autographed for me by Gilly Coman at the "gala opening" of In Shops. Yes, I am keeping it.

Stumbled across Rye House gatehouse yesterday on a stroll up the New River (and back down the River Lea). Sadly we were a day too early to go inside. Bonus: there's a nice pub directly opposite, with a riverside garden.
