Hi Ian I like this thanks. The inner reality of being alive- wow. Yeah I think we might all usefully pause on that idea... Best wishes to you

Yeah definitely. Definitely. I try to understand, while seeing the pretty different place I'm in-- a linear, standard (boring?) path. Showing care, showing interest feels important...

Hi Ju👋the 'grind' of work, when it all feels commodified & industrial feels to me soulless, & no amount of 'wellbeing' initiatives is going to shift that! But I do think it's possible to find moments of purpose, meaning, joy in work. I imagine these are intrinsically motivated though.
Good evening👋

Critical thinking- such an important skill🤍 I worry a lot about mine, esp about how vulnerable they are, my sense of threat that's 'out there'. And then sometimes I am wowed by a comment or observation one of them makes, that just indicates some level of understanding I hadn't realised they have! bw

It's very hard isn't it.
I can imagine us as health people saying "it's not personal" to patients, meaning all the system issues... but clearly it's personal for the patient! It's a dire situation😔

Mm cool thoughts thanks Dan. I hear you, ideas about inferiority. I guess there's something implicit about exprsssions of power, guess inferiority goes with superiority. I look at my boys & wonder what kind of men they'll grow into..
Sending love to you & family👋

Yeah i hear you both
I fear in some situations, patients are being positioned as 'difficult' or 'demanding' for expecting just basic care. It concerns me a lot. And i feel for managers, who are left to deal with "what are you going to do about it?" when in reality immediate options are limited...

Hey Dan🖐️how are you doing?
Tell me your thoughts.. what does 'men's mental health' mean to you? We have a Schwartz round coming up with that title. It brings up for me something about expectations, roles, social constructions of 'men', 'acceptable' expression of feelings, role models. What say thee?

Ha! Yeah I'm glad I'm making the move, thanks. Think it'll be much better for me. 'all that pressure and moral injury and ridiculousness' This is an epitaph-level quote!😆
