Ironically, the wrist splint thing they gave me in ED is pretty much identical to the wrist support I should have been wearing (that my kids wear), if i wasnt being such an idiot!🙄🤷‍♂️
Best wishes for your day 👋

We borrowed our friend's border collie today. She's learning to respond to various calls & she gets a treat each time she does it right. My son said: "can we give her a treat, just for being cool?"

Aw, wouldn't it be brilliant if we could appreciate each other just for being who we are...

Bristol has been taken over by Gromit Unleashed 3. So many kids & families going round the city seeing 50+ colourful sculptures- including Wallaces, Gromits, & Feathers McGraw. Lush😍

Nobody would call this a 'wellbeing intervention', but it is really SUCH A JOY & must lift so many people's spirits.

Wow what a scene! I'd love to see Joe Root bat.

Did you see the brilliant comment on the BBC live chat😆

For some reason, I was moved to message an old uni friend today, with a couple of "do you remember the time we..." memories.

It was totally random.

He's replied & i can hear his voice & see his face, in his words, & it's given me a big smile.

My son's got a bmx & he loves it. The joy on his face. I remember getting my first bmx 40 years ago & I'd spend hours & hours on it. I love the simple classic design.

Hi Pete, I often come back to this text, below. There's an excitement to the potential reach & scale of connecting with people all across the world. But I sometimes wonder we get seduced by striving for 'big' at the expense of actual meaningful connection...
Good to share thoughts 😃

I like the idea of a mental health friendly town. I imagine a place with loads of accessible spaces that support social connection; a place that's addressing social inequality/child poverty; a place with meaningful work/education/housing options & stuff for people to do. It's more than MHFA training

Hi Suzi, well that's so kind of you thank you x
We had a whole day with a gorgeous (borrowed) border collie today. We managed to exhaust her, so you can imagine how knackered we all are!

It's been a couple of months since I moved into my new house. I've needed to get some electrics done, & I've just had a bit of time to do some decorating. And finally, finally, I can put some pictures up on the wall. I love it. It's starting to feel like a new home😃

We LOVED it thank you x

In a fast-paced acute hospital it's a tough gig trying to promote the importance of taking a few moments to listen well. But just had some lovely feedback. I was asked for advice on strategies to manage a very anxious, unwell patient. I suggested to bring it back to human connection & alongsidedness

I've always loved this vision from Social Care Future- something that can resonate with everyone, & supports diversity & belonging.

I just think a clear, guiding vision like this is so missing in today's political narratives, & we really need it. We need to feel it.

I received a beautiful gift today, hand-made by the person.

A representation of a process of change.

I love the colours, & the clarity, & the simple design. Love it.

This blog from Bill Bannear (2023) medium.com/@bill.bannea... makes a compelling case for putting our efforts into 'creating the conditions', out of which ways forward will emerge. It's about caring for our relationships, rather than seeking simplistic quick fixes.

I think standardisation & equality can sound benign, & even aspirational, but standards can be in tension with a freedom to care, as Julia Unwin illustrates...
Equity is a better goal

It's so demoralising to hear the government intention for 'ruthless public spending cuts' & 'significant reductions in welfare budget'. I looked up ruthless on a thesaurus, & the synonyms paint a cold, heartless picture. Where is the care? Where is the understanding of the reality of people's lives?

It's a scene from Minecraft, the guy at the front with the purple eyes is an enderman apparently😃 all these new words I've been learning...
Hope you're having an OK day & things a bit more settled your end👋

This is a hateful & irresponsible headline in today's Telegraph, purposefully deflecting attention away from the impact of years of austerity & the NHS being run into the ground. And creating a false narrative the pits vulnerable people against each other.

Not falling for it.

A very helpful point this is, thank you🤍

I'm just out on a walk in east devon & I got a drink here at this 'honesty cafe'- so cute. Essentially a shed by a farm, with an urn of hot water & teas, coffees. Someone has set this up with kindness, then it relies on honesty/trust. That feels good...

Well this is the most christmassy I've felt in AGES. I've just been mending my son's favourite hoodie, while listening to all the classic christmas tunes. 2 hours of sewing. It's a very 'home made' job, i loved it😆

I am in current agreement 😆
(I can confirm- i have the moves😎)
