I’m honest. Not sure you are. The CR is fairly clean. Current funding levels plus $1billion for DC & money for members security. There are probably the usual anomalies. Democrats want money for ACA tax credits & repeal of some provisions of the so called OBBB. Shutdown coming. One side will blink.

You’re right. There are too many echo chambers in this country, empowering the extremes and impeding serious debate on any number of major policy questions.

Let me be clear: The CR was a bad outcome; a shutdown would have been worse. That was Schumer’s choice. What’s ignorant is shutting down the government without a plan on how or when to reopen it. If you think DOGE is a problem now, watch them run wild on the federal bureaucracy during a shutdown
