I wrote the scene and am ✨obsessed✨ with how the Manifestation of Death came out. I love them and I think this reveal will be worth it in 'pay off' for a big baddie.

I try to do a hand study at least once a month in my sketch book. I hate it. But I try to do it 🤣

OH HELL YEAH - I wanted these books to get a reprint so bad. This is so exciting!!!

I've been overly indulgent with this project - 70k words and we are... a third of the way thru the damn plot - BUT so what? I'll strip it down and rework it later to ask myself what I want each scene to actually do. For now... I just want to enjoy slapping out words and laughing over dumb inclusions

For example, the first full 🌶 scene was a blast to write through in its entirety, but upon discussion and what we actually want to demonstrate with the scene, it will be split into 2 separate ones with more focused reveals on the character's motives. But... we enjoyed the hell out of that 1st draft.

As an aside - yes this is making the draft way longer than it has any business being and thats okay 🤣 Hopefully someone out there will enjoy a tome where two neurodivergently coded magical academics fall for each other while burning down the world.

2/2 I tend to write characters that get blindsided by falling for each other because of a combo of shared experiences, a mutual understanding of trauma, and a shared passion for something they care deeply about. Ren & Svad are both tinkerers at heart, and could talk for hours about their projects ❤️.
