Testing out some online dithering tools. The first image was dithered with doodad.dev/dither-me-this and the second was dithered with dithering.sigrist.dev

I think I like the one from sigrist more but I'm not sure. The Kurt Kobain poster isn't as readable on that one

I've been trying to get this water fountain statue to look right from these three main angles. I think fixing the platform's texture would help a lot with readability but it's getting closer to the right vibe.

Health indicator portraits done. I don't know why I can't get the facial hair to look right but it's all right for now I guess lol

oops that was an older version of the portrait

workin on a rock texture and a character portrait in Aseprite for the UI of my heartslike game. my art skills aren't great but the ambient occlusion on the rocks has been fun to figure out

This is my first attempt at making the penblade in blender for my heartslike game. I think it's a little too much like a real pen, but it's a start at least. I liked the idea of the pen clicking to reveal the blade, but it might look better to base it off a fountain pen instead

I have an idea for a heartslike game that might be unique enough to finish. I was thinking what random object could have meaning as a weapon and decided on a penblade that collects enemy blood for magic sigils. So far it's just my boyfriend kicking some orbs ;D

I got a hard-coded response working! Yay! Now I can replace it with a check for possible responses to the input text so it'll output something more relevant for each thing the player sends.

does anyone know where to report a typo in the godot documentation?

So far I have a chat window you can scroll, close, open and drag. Next is text input with responses ;D

my boyfriend informed me that I was using a dictionary to emulate an array and accessing it as a stack ~ so I converted the chat history dictionary to a chat history array and used pop_front() instead of using a chat_index variable. i think this might be better for memory management?

The overall aesthetic isn't right yet, but I got the chat window to output the chat history from a txt file! Yay!

Trying to come up with a character design for a virtual companion in my mystery game set in a fantasy operating system ~ I'm kind of learning towards a cartoony lil bald dude with poofy clothes.

I don't want to waste too much time on something I wouldn't be allowed to release, so I'm gonna spend a week working on my other mystery game set in a ~fictional~ operating system in the same fantasy world as my other stories. The NPCs are fun to make with this one.

I've been having fun figuring out how to make MS Paint in Godot. It's not fully functional yet, but it's getting there. I'm gonna have a lot of fun making story elements with it for the murder mystery ;D

accidentally got sidetracked making my murder mystery game set in windows95. it's kind of tedious to make all the program windows for it, but it's kind of fun for some reason. i probably won't release this one, so i really shouldn't put so much time into it lol

!! THIS VIDEO HAS A FLASHING LIGHT !!
After a week, this is what I got. It's definitely not pretty and there's no win or lose state, but it's something. My next tentative project is an idle game, but I feel like since this one is so fun to work on ~ I'll probably choose this one.

I started to make shadows for my cards, and my boyfriend assumed I was taking his advice for making my game more like Balatro ~ i still haven't looked into it, but I'm not too worried if they are similar. Balatro's probably aren't as glitchy anyway ;D

my boyfriend let me us his voice for the sound of cards getting attacked. i think he did a pretty good job ~ the next thing to add is player attacking, since only the opponent can attack rn

I've been following a tutorial for making a card game. I think I'm making some good progress. I'm glad I know some basic stuff about organization and code architecture, though ~ he's teaching beginners a lot of bad habits lol

Anyway, this is my progress after a day or two ~

Well this was fun to figure out. I used my knowledge of first person camera movement and third person camera movement to make the world camera for my world builder game.

It took me two hours to figure out how to drag and drop a cube for my new city builder game. I still feel accomplished 😚 Next is camera movement!

I've been working on the first area of my game Tower of Kalle for a few days now. I'm just using placeholder textures right now, but I like how it's turning out.
