Into classic motorbikes, classic cars, Kate Bush, LFC, The Smiths, indie, 1960/70s/80s US cinema, The Beatles, and dogs. Proud dad of beautiful daughters. Hates Brexit, Farage, Johnson, Truss, Trump, Putin etc, but mostly hates Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran.
Here he is.

1977 Opel Manta in 1985 (similar to one in photo but with more rust). The first years insurance (third party F&T) cost me more than I paid for the car.

Is there a better song to start the Summer?

70s stalwarts Adidas Kick. Had a thin rubber sole padded with some sort of foam sandwich. Once the rubber had worn away, the foam then lasted about 5 minutes, and you were left with a trainer with no sole.

I switched to blue-suede Sambas - a dad shoe I wear to this day.

I raise you this rather lovely Turkey oak behind our house.

I stopped playing PC games when the girls were born (never had time), but really looking forward to #Atomfall. Looks wonderfully and quirkily British.

Those three flat-cap-wearing skeletons in the wheeled bathtub just have to be a nod to Last of the Summer Wine!

Monkeys are cool 😎.

Tanks are cool 😎.

But nothing could possibly be cooler than monkeys in tanks!

How could these two centres be placed so close, yet not combined joyfully into an entertaining simian/lethal military vehicle mash up?

A real opportunity missed.

I'm well happy with mine.

I just watched the excellent 1971 "The year.." on Apple. I'm not sure I agree with the "year music changed everything" tag, but I was only 6 then, so no expert. But it reminded me of the BBC Rock and Roll years, a programme that taught me more history than lessons ever did in school.

Do watch.

The poster from my bedroom wall 1981 to University. True musical Genius (and fondly-remembered crush for a 16 year old fan).

Highly recommend Say Nothing on Disney. Story of two sisters journey in the the IRA in the seventies juxtaposed with the appalling kidnapping and disappearance of Jean McConville.

I rewatched this favourite this afternoon as a "me-time" xmas treat while Mrs W was out at her mums all afternoon. A brilliant film wrongly eclipsed at the Oscars by that dire Titanic dross.

Only BL could produce something looking this fantastic, and still manage to bollox up the execution so badly that a potential world-beater became a byword for rust, unreliability and appalling build quality.

Still looks fresh, even 50 years later. An opportunity missed.

Will You by Hazel O'Connor. The best sax solo ever.

This year, I have been mainly listening to dad rock.

Again.

Love it.

Snap. 60 too!

I no longer ride, sadly. Football (soccer) injury (20 years ago) means my left wrist now lacks any real strength, so I had to quit. Still love old bikes tho.

Switched to classic cars now, and drive/help my brother with his Triumph TR6.

December 1st and a spring-like morning on the Wirral. Zoom on a flip F4, so a bit (well, a lot actually) grainy.

View from this morning's dog walk. Apologies about the wonky horizon, but it's a quick left-handed snap as the dog tried to bolt for freedom.

Scramble. I got so good I could make 10p last an entire lunch hour.

Today's accompaniment (along with a Guinness or two) while cooking the Sunday roast. A real blast from the past. "Johnny Was" as good as I remember.
