IMHO the coup botched not because it was not well thought out. Yoon lacks political allies. His only ally is the military, supporting his rhetoric of freedom/liberalism targeted at so-called pro-North Korea anti-state forces. He has no political allies within the ruling party.

News Analysis: Donald Trump will be the first court-adjudicated sexual abuser to become president. But if he gets the team of his choice, he will not be the only one in the room whose conduct has been called into question.
“I’m trying to raise your wages and this weirdo wants to talk about a 13 year old trying to play soccer with her friends!?” Force Republicans to defend their absurd attack on this obviously vulnerable minority. That’s not weakness, that’s strength.

No one is demanding that Dems run on a Trans Rights First platform. We are asking the party to push back against the wave of straightforwardly bigoted legislation passing in dozens of states — something numerous Democratic governors have managed to do and communicate very effectively for years.

I don’t always get it right—I often don’t—but I’m for a politics of solidarity, not of altruism. A physical politics, in which ideas follow bodies, not the other way around. A Which-Side-Are-On politics that’s also always open to those ready to cross over.

World-wide right is waging counter-revolution against a "revolution" that never occurred. They have built the flimsiest of straw men: claiming the world's most oppressed groups have somehow usurped power.

I’m all for the Democrats embracing populism and ditching neoliberalism. I just want someone to explain how that works in a post-Citizens United environment. Dem populist hero Sherrod Brown was beaten by a Mercedes dealer in Ohio because he was swamped by crypto super pac cash.

The defeat of Sherrod Brown does not get fed into the “voters rejected Dem elites” takes
