It’s been 15 years since the last federal minimum wage increase, the longest gap in history and more than one and a half times longer than the previous record. Wonder if that has anything to do with poverty levels being so high...🤔 #AprilFoolsDay #RaiseTheWage #1u

Pssst... It's because there's no fraud.
One party currently controls the Presidency, House, and Senate. If there are claims of mass fraud being uncovered, there would be no reason, obstacle, or impediment to moving forward with pressing charges for those crimes. Makes you wonder why that isn't happening...

Remember in Superman movies when the over-exaggerated caricature villain was always planning some cockamamie land grab scheme to make their nefarious intentions blatantly obvious? Been thinking about that a lot lately for some reason...

If I had popped the hood of my car ten days ago and started randomly removing parts I didn’t understand, only for it to break down ten days later, I wouldn’t blame the regularly scheduled oil changes from the past four years for the failure.

This is awesome news & I hope even more restaurant workers in DC and beyond unionize because of it:

The labor movement is strong, it’s resilient, and now, it’s united to build even more worker power.

When workers fight, workers win!
We’re thrilled to share breaking news:

The AFL-CIO and @seiu.org are reuniting with a new, long-term effort to make it easier for workers to win a voice on our jobs with our unions.

There’s power in unity!

American workers are more than 400% more productive than they were in the 1940s.

But all of the economic gains are going straight to the top.

Workers deserve more.

It’s time for a 32-hour work week with no loss in pay.

Every year in the US employers steal around $50 billion in wages from their employees through violations to minimum wage, overtime, off the clock, and rest breaks.

4.5 million American workers are victims of wage theft – among them 300,000 are living in poverty as a result.

Child Poverty % (children living in households below the minimum wage)

Denmark 2.4%
Finland 3.2%
Norway 3.6%
Sweden 3.6%

The UK 32.1%

All four of those countries have child benefits, paid by taxing the rich, that make it almost impossible for a child to be in poverty.

Biden's NLRB has made it easier for workers to unionize and cracked down on anti-union practices like captive audience meetings.

Like his first term, Trump's NLRB will likely be staffed with union-busting hacks who will reverse these gains.
