I'll slowly be uploading all of my #art #tutorials here, but for now have my newest one!

This one specifically covers deer/two-toed artiodactyla but can be applied to other animals too. See my replies to this post to see more!
A collection of deer back legs. To the left, The skeletal structure. To the right, the muscles are drawn out and simplified. Text on the image reads, "Skeletal Structure.... Bones and muscles are the bread and butter of anatomy. These shapes can be less noticeable when covered with fur, but without them you have nothing. Below, I’ll show an image of the anatomy, a drawing of it, and how I personally simplify the forms.... Proportions vary based on each species. Keep an eye for different bone lengths and angles." A photo of a deer's back leg. Next to it are drawings simplifying the shapes of the leg. Text reads, "Basics....Laying a pelt over all of your muscles will unfortunately (or fortunately?) mask much of your hard work. This doesn’t stop you from exaggerating them though!.....I try to avoid using actual circles for joints. I’ll instead overlap the shown sections like a paper doll. Once my base shapes have been made, I will usually draw diamonds or triagles to more accurately represent the joints. Draw shapes with the understanding that they’re wrong and will be fixed. Life isn’t all perfect ovals. Try to include thickness and variances in your forms!.....The way someone may simplify the form may differ from the Actual way they sketch the form in their art. How you eventually do it may/should differ!"
