I enjoy writing and problem-solving in Christian thought at https://chapman.wiki, with a focus on conspiracism, polarisation, and human sexuality. I've an M.Div, and a curious collection of interests.

My other channel is @eukras.bsky.social, on web dev.
"By Love Serve." A stained glass window in St John's Anglican Church in Darlinghurst, Sydney, Australia. More of this, please.

If you A/B a nice urushi with a nice Pelikan, you'll find 1) the mechanism on the Pelikan is better and it writes smoother, being made for cursive rather than kanji; but 2) you'll likely prefer the urushi for the feel of it. (Note that neither Pelikan nor Nakaya has good options for flex nibs.)

A little game for #theology types. Which doctrinal statement from the last 500 years has the following distribution of Bible references?

A little article about adding reflection on science to Baptist ministry training. The nicely multivalent painting is "Doubting Thomas" by Mark Tansey.

If it's more useful, here's the Danvers screenshot without the hover tag getting in the way.

Clerics investigate murder! But of these two, it's @richardcoles.bsky.social who gives them a compelling inner life. And, unlike many modern writers -- especially of TV adaptations -- it's a mystery not a drama, meaning there really are enough clues to say "Argh, I should have guessed" at the end.

When I edited a book on Christian belief in conspiracy theories in 2022, one of the best ideas for conversations was @mickwest.com 's conspiracy spectrums, designed to be drawn on a napkin. I've been messing with them ever since, partly to save the world, and partly because its a fun UX challenge.

An endearing quality of churches in south India is that their names often say "CSI:" then the in name of the locality. I visited one just after the US bishop caused a stir by asking Trump to show mercy to several groups of people. This was the opposite page in the prayer book...

Whether ballpoints or rollerballs it the pen is just a shell for the refills, so they seem like they're much of a muchness. And the refills only come in a few colours.

I found my first two random trials had such low resolution images that I couldn't read them, so I stopped. The better of the two looked like this in Chrome on my Linux laptop. I could check the others if that'd be helpful.

Some moss and lichens from an area of the Grampians called The Balconies. (For the #moss feed. This is in Victoria Australia.)

Of to Singapore again in Jan to visit family. I did the rounds of the fountain pen stores last time. If you want to happily fill 2-3 hours, go to Town Hall Station and then, within a few blocks, Think@Funan, Aesthetic Bay, and (careful here if asking for directions) the Fook Hing Trading Company.

I was just once again recommending the Mountain of Ink website for finding elusive fountain pen colour matches. Here's my favourite turquoises all in a line...

Dorothy Sayers' fictional detective Harriet Vane, herself a
mystery writer, has a fictional book titled "The
Fountain Pen Mystery". The plot is never described. This is itself a mystery. I'll go first, shall I? #fountainpens

IT WAS AGATHA CHRISTIE, AT THE DETECTION CLUB, WITH THE POISONED INK.

I like Iroshizuku and J Herbin inks. I haven't found that Japanese inks specially suit Japanese pens, or likewise for European, at least with the Pelikans pens I use. Larger stores have samples you can try, like these bottles from a shop in Singapore.

A few more features done. #python #bible #indexing #refspy.

Thanks for this suggestion. I think I will be adding an option to identify bad references. Resolving the bad refs would be an issue for a client application, but I'll try it out when I add reference indexing to my wiki software.
