This is the kind of bullshit that infuriates me. This is not only a lie but rewrites history in a way that ignores the intense fight of the time and the reality that Manchin and Sinema created an untenable reality.

Biden is responsible for a LOT, but this kind of bullshit does not help us.
In this piece, we note that in addition to presiding over a staggering number of deaths and millions of long COVID cases, Biden and the Democrats allowed relief programs people were relying on to expire without much of a fight—right as inflation was setting in and the Fed was hiking interest rates.

I saw a really good question earlier about grieving process and Acceptance around the election.

Their question was whether acceptance, as described by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross meant letting go of our desire for a different or better future.

Short answer, no. But I wanted to offer a quick thread. 1/x
Acceptance describes recognizing the reality of a difficult diagnosis while no longer protesting or struggling against it. Patients may focus on enjoying the time they have left and reflecting on their memories. They may begin to prepare for death practically by planning their funeral or helping to provide financially or emotionally for their loved ones. It is often portrayed as the last of Kubler-Ross's stages and a sort of goal of the dying or grieving process. While caregivers and providers may find this stage less emotionally taxing, it is important to remember that it is not inherently more healthy than the other stages. As with denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, understanding the stages has less to do with promoting a fixed progression and more to do with anticipating patients' experiences to allow more empathy and support for whatever they go through.

Karla made an entire thread calling Kevin Kruse out for 'not understanding Latiné voters' when he noted their belief Trump is talking about other "bad" immigrants to deport. Not them.

When I point out them saying exactly this? Blocks me.
Post from @karlaliliana.bsky.social responding to data that shows Latiné respondents, some born in the USA, some not, saying that Trump "Isn't talking about them." : I know each of us has agency, Lord only knows I feel the peril. I just put this into context with the right wing buying up Spanish language radio stations, spreading massive disinformation on WhatsApp, Fox News choosing to do hour long Spanish broadcasts, and all of it going uncontested. My response: This kind of reporting shows that they really are not aware of the threat. Quoted post: "It was made two months ago, just after Biden stepped down. That video is perfectly conscious of the threat and asks folks to vote even if they are unhappy with the status quo. Which makes a lot of people check out of the entire process"

Trump is promising to strip anyone he wants of status and concentration camps to carry out his mass deportations.

Biden is closing down a program that helped people get other status.
"This two year period was intended to enable individuals to seek humanitarian relief or other immigration benefits for which they may be eligible, and to work and contribute to the United States," the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement. Anyone qho has not applied for asylum or another status "will need to depart the United States prior to the expiration of their authorized parole period or may be placed in removal proceedings after the period of parole expires," the statement said.
