We expected 2,000 people out in GOP-held Greeley, Colorado.

11,000 people showed up.

Something special is happening, folks. Now is the time to organize in every dimension possible and get to work.
Overflow crowd for Bernie/AOC rally in Greeley, CO — the small one today, big one is in Denver later

Can’t emphasize this enough: if you’re feeling overwhelmed by the debased assault on our country, the antidote is connecting with other people in the flesh who are feeling the same way. There are millions of us.

imo the left really needs to put a lot more effort into organizing veterans, especially now. they aren’t a political monolith, and a lot of them are getting screwed over right now.

When we live in a digital share cropping renter based economy. It’s time to take platforms and algorithms into decentralised, open source, collective ownership. Left tech but also specifically blockchain is part of the solution.

Really think the left needs to care about blockchain. Having new financial tools, + the ability to create decentralized software is such wasted potential. We should be building a new cooperative high tech future with the latest tools, but some people are still blinded by culture war division.

I agree with using violence when violence threatens you. If someone is going to murder you, best to stop them before. That doesn’t really mean hanging people who I disagree with though. This kind of rhetoric normalises and justifies something that the right are much more likely and able to do to us

Our political system is broken, but that doesn’t mean we should jettison every liberal norm too. Eg I think public violence as a means of retribution is quite different from violence for self defence and the rejection of public violence, or violent “justice”, in modernity is a good thing imho

The pro-Israel lobby really lay a lot of the groundwork for fascism. Having organisations in every community and at every level of society which seeks to target individuals who dissent, first with being cancelled/fired and now with deportation, and later with worse… has a lot to answer for imho

Hearing my dog soft bark in his sleep is just the most adorable thing. 🐶

It’s so beautiful that he’s dreaming a whole world up, probably with me in it, the way he’s sometimes in my dreams.

This point isn’t made anywhere near enough:

Our ability to recover Russian assets proves a wealth tax is possible when there is political will.

It’s obviously not the same thing, but the issue isn’t that there isn’t wealth, or that we don’t know where it is, or that we don’t know how to get it.
Really shows how effective the state can be at recovering wealth when there is the political will to do so.

We’re often told it’s “impossible” to tax wealth, but the case of Russian assets proves that’s untrue. What we lack is the political will, not the wealth to tax nor the means to do it.

We need a new left wing option at the ballot. One that:
- feels and taps into the righteous anger
- proposes a better future, through concrete plans and policies
- isn’t bullied by big parties

If Reform can do it, so can we. Our arguments are better and our solutions real. We just need the frontman

I choose to see hope as a political choice I make each morning, regardless of the odds. Because otherwise I let my most valuable weapon be dictated by the other side, who wish to see me fail.

I think Trump is an idiot and not this smart. However, I’m also aware I could be wrong, and so it’s best to prepare and act like he’s not an idiot, and that there may be substance to theories like this.

What are the limits to executive orders? Don’t they undermine the point of democracy, with its (supposed) checks and balances? Until this Trump presidency I didn’t realise you could do so much with them, and don’t really understand why you can or what the limit to their power is?

You’re suddenly an expert on the minutiae of geopolitics and a minerals deal from your mom’s basement, single and in debt. Don’t worry about fixing the tanking economy, don’t look at the sea of red… the art of the deal is much more important.

First they came for the communists, and I said nothing even though the witch hunt gutted every federal program I really on because I’m a massive idiot.

How do you reconnect with meaning and purpose when the world’s gone to shit and everything feels pointless?

Like seriously, I need suggestions 😅
March 3, 2025 at 11:07 PM
The world is so broken, is it time to radically rethink the system we want? Can’t we just spitball from the ground up? If we wanted a new political project, what would it look like? For me something high tech, eco, more direct democracy, less lobbying and entrenched power, focused on the good life.

One infuriating thing about the Democrats is that everything the Trump administration is doing is wholly expected & predictable yet the Democrats are always on the back foot, never prepared, and unable to mount effective resistance. It’s literally project 2025, the blueprint has been known for ages.

The absolute arrogance of demanding a suit. The belief that all countries should remake themselves in the image of the West.

The UK should be looking at this situation & asking how we reduce our dependence on the US. US multinationals gut UK companies, buy out the competition just to shut it down & run the UK like a vassal state. Most of our economy is owned my US companies. This should be fertile ground for the left.
March 1, 2025 at 7:55 AM
The deeply depressing thing about all of this is that there isn’t even the kernel of a left wing political project in either the US or UK.

I feel there’s almost no point talking policy bc we’re nowhere near power to enact it. After all this time + fertile recruitment ground, we’re still at square 1

I think my final straw on X was having lots of Americans tell me, a Brit, that shrinking the state would improve the lives of ordinary people. We’ve just had decades of austerity and trust me no, it does not. Plz tell me ppl here have a bit more nuance than just capitalism = good, socialism = bad 😩
