I’m curious how many of their sales today will be to Zohran supporters.

The original authors found that greater redistribution in the Nordic countries only explained at most a third of their greater equality relative to the U.S.
Using Ginis for the total population rather than the working-age population appears to show that it really explains more like three-fifths.

The video specifically asks voters to ask ChatGPT about how qualified Mamdani is, if I remember correctly, which is a wild thing to put in a political ad.

It makes no sense to analyze the proposals in the abstract, and ignore the specific political moment this vote is coming at. And it makes no sense to say you want more affordable housing, but oppose any changes to land use rules that currently make it hard to build any kind of new housing anywhere.

I think a small part of it (but most certainly not all) is that literally everyone is always a bit muddled when they are interviewed and Chotiner's version of "edited for length and clarity" is a bit lighter on the editing than everyone else.

Picking Losers has been put on the backburner for the time being? That's unfortunate, but understandable given the present moment.

Yes, I totally recognize it’s not a binary categorization, but when a Nazi tattoo is one of the most striking pieces of evidence for Platner (still) being a bigot, wanting Nazis and fascists to be killed appears directly relevant.
Anyways, apologies if my messages appeared like an unwanted lecture.

Similarly, if someone with a hammer and sickle tattoo was anonymously posting about how the only good communist is a dead communist a decade after they got that tattoo and decrying egalitarian impulses, I think it would be unlikely for them to still be an unrepentant communist.

I’m not trying to say he’s a great/unproblematic person. I just don’t think it’s likely he is pro-Nazi or an unrepentant bigot, despite the tattoo, when he was anonymously posting about it is great when Nazis get killed.
I think that should be a relatively uncontroversial statement.

Yes, and also celebrated neo-Nazis being killed on what I presume he thought was an anonymous account.

In 2021, Platner posted "
And not a thing of value was lost. These [expletives] were firing indiscriminately into civilian homes, just trying to kill blacks.
No quarter for fascists. Good on the constable" on a video of South African neo-Nazis being killed

I think the Reddit posts from just a couple years ago where he called rural Americans "racist" and "stupid," and was criticizing the police for being racist, make it somewhat unlikely he is a quote unrepentant bigot unquote.
