As Republicans try to justify their rampant Constitutional violations, my only hope is that the Supreme Court will see this for what it is: a disgraceful attempt by far-right actors to assume even more unchecked power.

Miyares has proved, time and time again, that he is nothing more than a lapdog of Trump and the MAGA movement.

It's become painfully obvious that he cares more about currying favor with the President than he does about his constituents.

Instead of advocating for Virginians, fighting to protect their rights, and standing up to the President's gross abuses of power, our Attorney General is fighting to give him even more.

It's not only shameful — it's terrifying.

Just hours after Miyares bragged about his amicus brief on Twitter, Trump admitted something we'd all suspected: he'd mistakenly deported someone, with no way to bring him back home to his family.

Due process isn't just some obscure legal term — we're talking about people's lives, their safety, and their ability to be with their loved ones. When Trump, Miyares, and their cronies violate these rights, entire communities become less safe.

Miyares and his gang of far-right extremists want to give Trump, who has already expanded his powers far beyond those of any other President, even more authority to ignore the due process rights of both American citizens and immigrants.

These guns are used almost exclusively to commit crimes, with step-by-step kits shipped straight to the doors of individuals who can't legally own a firearm. That includes minors, people with violent criminal histories, and those suffering from mental health crises.

This isn't a small problem. In 2017, law enforcement officers seized 1,600 ghost guns that were used to commit crimes. In 2021, they seized 19,000 — more than 10x the amount they had just 4 years prior.

After years of disappointing rulings from this Supreme Court, I'm glad they're finally making a decision that actually keeps Americans safe.

"Glenn Youngkin has spent the last four years honing his Trump impersonation, and now he's following in his footsteps by commuting sentences just to score political points. This is an insult to all Virginians who value an untainted justice system."
