On holiday at the local kiosk the shopkeeper asked our daughter ‘You want braid?’ Oh yes she replied.

‘If you come at 8 tomorrow you can get braid.’

Two excited girls are waiting next morning to get their hair done. Their poor faces when the chap from the bakery turns up with that day’s loaves.

I think I’ve finally worked out my hypothesis. I was born in 1974 and until 1989 we thought we would probably die in a nuclear war. Then everything went well for two decades - my young adult life. So I have had this unshakeable feeling that this is how life really is.
