He’s still going, ringing the alarm bells for 20 hours now. This man is 68 years old.
Midnight in Oregon, and Sen. Merkley is reading the poem again, sounding the alarm bells. He’s outlasted the livestream, so they started a new livestream. www.youtube.com/live/ymDt1Xe...

I just tuned into this livestream. He’s been going for 7 hours and is talking about the importance of having independent journalists covering the war in Afghanistan. I appreciate this. Thank you, Senator.

Spent some time this morning conducting a comprehensive damage assessment in the smoldering, uninhabitable hellscape of war-ravaged Portland. This traffic cone is just another innocent victim of the chaos.

Absolutely irate at NYT story that includes this quote, does NOT explain what a Gleason score or grade group means, but DOES include 3 grafs of irrelevant BS about the Democratic Party. I get that breaking news is hard but this is basic journalism, and the AP story includes that info. Inexcusable.

If you asked me to name the one album LEAST likely be on the inflight entertainment system for a transoceanic flight, it would probably be this one. And yet there it was.

I have spent a lot of time in authoritarian states and dictatorships. They all had elections. They all had legislatures. It isn’t institutions or elections they make a democracy, it’s accountability.

Maybe Dems can use their email/text annoyance structure to blast put a message that really matters rather than just to fundraise
Do older Americans know that Elon Musk now controls access to their Social Security and health insurance?
NEW: Sources tell my office that Treasury Secretary Bessent has granted DOGE *full* access to this system. Social Security and Medicare benefits, grants, payments to government contractors, including those that compete directly with Musk's own companies. All of it.

reasonable people can quibble about how USAID does some of this, but that’s not what’s on the table—the question on the table is stark: do we want the might of the US state to provide people w/aid & assistance, or do we just want it to crush people? Do we want to protect the people who provide aid?
USAID is, frankly, one of the few arms of the government that does actually, unadulteratedly good things for the world (and with decent efficiency, given that that’s the notional concern). Not a coincidence that they’re the primary target here.

WASHINGTON (AP) — USAID security chiefs on leave after trying to prevent Musk's DOGE from accessing classified material, officials say.

Seeing folks talking about mailing used clothing to Los Angeles. Please do not do this unless you are responding to a specific request from a reputable relief organization.* Otherwise, you contribute to a second disaster. You'll do more good by donating the money you would have spent on shipping.

Of travel I've had my share, man
I've been everywhere…
