It's all carefully designed, not only so they can get away with assaulting you, but so that you aren't even sure if you were assaulted at all. If you feel uncertain its because they manipulated you into feeling uncertain. It doesn't mean that what your gut is telling you is wrong. Your gut is right.

When they push too far too fast and you catch that that is what theyre doing, they "made a mistake" and are "committed to do better" but by mistake they mean a tactical mistake not a moral one, and by do better they mean make their manipulation more subtle.

Not shayy but someone with almost the same MO did something similar to me so I get it. They never unambiguously break your boundaries, just push on them consistently until you relent, then made you feel like you voluntarily changed them.

100%. my whole point here is that yall are doing your best in what im sure is an impossible situation, while being unpaid volunteers under personal stress. so regardless of whether the choice you guys made was optimal, you deserve grace.

None of us can know whether the right call was made until after the details are public, and even then, whether they made the right call will probably be a matter of interpretation, and even if it was, hindsight is 20/20.

calming the speculation of people who already are speculating vs making new people aware that there's A Situation before its feasible is probably a hard call to make. Especially if you're 20 and a volunteer, and especially if youre feeling whatever emotions this situation warrants.

would it have been nice if they had waited to post anything until they could share details? yeah. did it make people aware of the situation who otherwise wouldnt have been? yeah. but at least in FF speculation was already happening before the tweet.

I'm just saying that relying on AI for friendship and companionship is so inherently destructive as to be basically always maladaptive
