I’ve cried through this entire Willie Nelson set at Farm Aid. He means so much to this country. A true hero

The best feature of any hotel is the Hampton Inn self-serve waffle iron. Five star hotels take note — you will never truly be five star to me until you add this amenity.

1/ My favorite new product: Brick. Set up profiles like "out to dinner" or "work" w/ apps you want to block in those contexts. Tap the Brick & those apps are unavailable to you until you tap the device again & un-Brick. This review explains how it works.

a package was misdelivered to my house and the recipient name was a little unusual so I googled it and ended up on a LinkedIn profile. I burned an InMail reaching out and the story ended with that person picking up the package at my place this morning. LinkedIn and Christmas - killer combo.

my family has a pet parakeet & when we got him I wasn't a "bird person" (in fact, I was highly skeptical of birds as pets) but 4 years later every morning when I wake up, I talk to the bird and flap my arms like I'm flying which causes him to flap his wings in response. A great way to start the day.

Definitely check this amazing film out from my friend Gary Hustwit! It's been really amazing seeing this develop from concept to reality & playing a small part by making the intros to eventual executive producers @elatable.com & @ireneau.bsky.social. Only available in theaters. . . until now!
1/ One of the great joys of 2024 has been watching the launch of Eno, the documentary on legendary music producer and artist Brian Eno.

Next month, for the first time, you'll be able to stream this work of art into your own home.

Today I found myself pondering the mysterious staying power of the Dippin' Dots brand. How do they do it? What is their secret in a world otherwise full of uncertainty?

Really proud that *three* of 10 productions mentioned in this Artforum "Best of 2024" list are from the amazing St. Ann's Warehouse in Brooklyn (where I have served on the board for 11 years). I love what they do and the risks they take year in and year out.

If you haven't locked in your turkey-cooking method just yet, may I suggest smoking the turkey. I've done it a few times and it is The Way.**

saw M Ward do a show at Cafe Carlyle last night and it was magical. I’ve spent so many nights standing in a dank venue drinking PBR seeing shows but seated in a plush club a little dressed up having steak frites and a couple of martinis is a nice way to do it now and then.

Last night I saw Bit Brigade, a band from Athens, GA that does live soundtracks to classic video games (one of the band members is at the front of the stage playing the game). I'm not super into video games or metal these days but it was incredible. Go see them!

my son is taking the SHSAT today (for admission into the amazing specialized public high schools in NYC) and the site is James Madison HS in Midwood, Brooklyn where Ruth Bader Ginsberg attended.

Love the Madison quote on the building — more meaningful than ever.

My wife is out running some errands & a package came. I opened it & quickly realized that in the delivery, something like Axe Body Spray got spilled onto the box -- it was wet & sticky. Now it won't wash off of my skin. So my wife left for 2 hrs & now I smell like a teen boy. Figuring out my story.

this post from Elad Gil advising founders/CEOs on how to recognize when executives aren't scaling with the company and what to do about it is the most succinct & useful writing on this topic that I've seen. This issue is one of the most common I see in my coaching.

1/ I’m re-introducing myself here since a lot has changed in the past ~7 yrs & I haven’t been doing much on social media in that time. My interests have shifted a lot since I lived a more public life so I’m posting this with the hope that I’ll connect with some co-conspirators on my new interests.
