Warning, Sunday's are the day when I lift all restrictions on restraint in my posts!
I thought it is time to post something else I made, as it's Saturday. this is a secret Santa present I made for a colleague. It cost less than the £10 limit, as I basically gave her a stick I found, but I was very proud of it.

Very happy to have potted my first Holy Basil cutting, from the tiny little seedling I was given and told would never grow but is now thriving on my window ledge.
In this country I count that as an achievement.

two weeks and a day before I go on holiday and I was asked today (in all seriousness) if I'd done my packing yet.
Is it odd to think two days is more than enough?

Taking my mother out for a meal to celebrate her 92nd birthday.
Nice pub, nice food, but I'm in shock that no Essex taxi drivers work on Sunday and it took 50 minutes for Uber to get a driver there- and not at all for the way backM

Lunch with my mother for her 92nd birthday. She’s not grumpy, just a stiff neck!

Plus regulate & tax those entities properly, & fine them when they break the rules.
Foreign billionaires circumvent laws and pump millions into British politics.

Unincorporated associations, shell companies, companies controlled from abroad used.

The aim: produce govts subservient to corporations and the rich.

End corruption. Give democracy a chance. Ban all political donations.

Reporting on the Russian Wagner Group has come at a personal cost. I’ve been abducted, tortured, and targeted with death threats by their operatives & allies. Yet, I continue to speak out because the voices of the victims—the miners, the mothers, the children—deserve to be heard.

So #LisaNandy, it's OK to arrest dozens of people waving Palestinian flags, but groups attacking police & damaging property whilst trying to kill immigrants are fine?
Is it because they were only carrying bricks, not paint?

The NHS is in crisis. Underfunded and overstretched, but MPs are raking in millions of pounds from donors linked to the private healthcare industry.

We don't think this is right.

I've been told I have no shortage of empathy, & it really helps in my job, but anyone saying don't speak ill of the dead as far as Norman Tebbit goes can fuck right off.
The man was a product of everything that was bad about Britain's past, nastiness personified & an architect of our problems now

‪@vicderbyshire.bsky.social is ‪@rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social‬ being thick or disingenious about PIP & employment? why do I have to keep shouting about the fact that PIP has nothing to do with unemployment?
