Great job! That’s a fun challenge, makes me want to break out the cotton balls and try the Battaglia approach

I desperately love Guy Davis and have tried repeatedly to read the Marquis and just can’t get into it. I own every iteration of it possible including a limited signed hardcover and I would buy any available pages from it in a heartbeat but I’ve just never been able to make it all the way through 😔

Yeah I had the same experience with L+R for years. Finally ended up sitting down with the Penny Century volume so that I could read Whoa Nellie and that’s the volume that hooked me. Honestly I love the recent Tonta and Life Drawing collections and I think they make a great entry point.

Agreed! His prelims have a liveliness to them that are much closer to that magical New Mutants issue he drew.

Definitely worth checking if you have anything that’s out of print. You would be surprised how much some of those hard to find trades will fetch.

Really depends on what you have and who you’re selling to. $1 a piece is about right for some place like Half Price Books. Comic shops around me tend to give you a better deal. If a book is $24.95 you could get $5 for it.

When I worked at a store it was like 10-20 cents per issue. Obviously someone would go through the boxes first to pull out any high value stuff and we would pay more for those books. Mostly what people were bringing in was just dollar box stuff.

Yeah I’ve seen some with different patterns other than lines. There’s definitely one with an irregular dot pattern too. There should be a website that catalogs all of these crazy supplies that have disappeared over the years
