Just picked up a really nice Johnny Hazard Sunday page from 1959 by the great Frank Robbins. Spectacular action choreography to go along with the usual beautiful inks. Very happy to have this one!

Looking through the new Heritage catalog and holy shit, where the hell was Don Newton when DC and Marvel were doing painted original graphic novels?!

A recent Johnny Hazard pick up. 10/12/57 by the great Frank Robbins. After I won it I went to pull out the hardcover collection to read the storyline it was from and discovered that the last panel was used as the cover!

Closing out his birthday by reading some of my favorite Frank Robbins comics so I thought I’d post another favorite piece from my collection. House of Mystery #241 pg. 10. Super fun layout and incredible inks!

I was lucky to grab a few pages from one of my favorite BPRD storylines by the master Guy Davis! Rereading it recently I was struck by how much of an impact Darryl the Wendigo made with so little page count.

I’ve been working through Wash Tubbs reprints and fell in love with the strip. I started going through originals for sale and came across this beauty by Leslie Turner Roy Crane’s friend and assistant. Chances are any Crane original I could afford was drawn by Turner anyway so I jumped on it 😄

Lovely strip with some very funny dialogue 😆 I’ll look forward to reading this one when the reprints catch up to it in the next volume or two. I just picked up two nice dailies from 1960 and a Sunday from 71 for my collection.

Oh man did I miss the Trakhanov? Did you post it? He did this Kirby recreation for me but I’ve been debating over buying a published page from him or getting another commissioned piece.

Some close ups! Shortly after this Robbins would switch the Sunday page over to the smaller two tier format.

A Johnny Hazard Sunday page by the great Frank Robbins I picked up recently. The top panel is a winner with a beautiful shot of another great Robbins character design so confidently cool you want to follow her adventures in her own strip. I also love the dramatic lighting in the 2nd and 4th panels.
