On this day in 1282, Wales lost its last true Prince.

Llywelyn ap Gruffydd is often called 'ein llyw olaf' - 'our last leader', but only for now.

Our generation can finish the job and secure an independent Wales. 💪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

Two of the most cultural and political key moments in modern Welsh history occurred today. Aberfan and Tryweryn. Both examples of imperialism, colonialism, and capitalist exploitation.

Below: don't think I've ever seen or heard such an entitled, obnoxious sports crowd.
Makes the English rugby crowd at Twickenham seem positively cultured.

European players were subjected to slurs and crude insults about their families. They were no surprise as public discourse in America has broken down

A lie, of course, as profit is the only concern here. How can you grow a sport behind a pay wall. Once again, sport shows itself to be of benefit to those that can afford it.

This will stop next year when the organisers sell their soul to pay tv, to a company that lost £190m last year. Along with sporting governing bodies in this country, the organisers will say they are growing the sport for future generations.

I've watched the Tour de France for over 20 years on ITV, it remains the best sporting event on TV. The quality of the coverage is outstanding, as are the presenters.

It's the football authorities, I think, who condone such behaviours through inaction. Refs condone behaviour through inaction, players gambling leads to bigger fines than racially abusing a player. FFP is ineffective posturing.

Violence and deaths at the Champions League final. What is it about football that creates such a horrible culture. Racism, homophonia, abuse of officials, diving, fan violence.......

194 years ago today that the Merthyr riots started. The red flag was flown for the first time. A short lived uprising against working class oppression but one in a proud tradition of Welsh agitation.

This is the biggest criticism of EWCB, in light of the Ashes debacle. Resources have been focused, almost exclusively on the top end of the player pathway and not on the development of a coherent club structure.
Surely, every sport needs this, it is a core function of any NGB.

Great to see Glammy women off to a winning start 👇. Sad that Ffion isn't involved. To make matters worse, there are limited opportunities for girls and women, below this level, to play club/league cricket.

The Saudi Arabia Soverign Wealth fund paid $1bn for DAZN. Then, DAZN paid FIFA $1bn for the rights to cover the Club World Cup.
Chances are a Saudi backed team will win.

In 1987, I wrote a dissertation on the work of the South Wales Working Mens Institutes. After attending the anniversary open day of the South Wales Miners Library last year, I mentioned this and they requested a copy.
Pleased to have in their archive after nearly 40 years!
