Too often, these contracts reward the cheapest bidder, regardless of labour rights, sustainability, or regional development.

The EU Commission has asked the ETUC to endorse the Competitiveness Compass - we cannot do this if it continues to undermine jobs, rights and standards

There is a need to create jobs and competitive companies but it’s not workers and their rights which are the problem

We need negotiated plans with genuine efforts to look for alternatives to layoffs and, where necessary, to put in place a moratorium on forced redundancies.

🚨 The EU Adequate Minimum Wages Directive (#AMWD) is a milestone for EU Employment Policy: It is key to fairer wages & more collective bargaining across 🇪🇺.
Some Member States will miss today's (15 NOv'24) transposition deadline. Even worse: Some proceed to frankly cynical "transpositions".⬇️

In 2021, trade unionists from Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Switzerland decided to improve their cooperation in the region and at 🇪🇺 level.
🧱The foundations for a Central European Trade Union Network were laid.🧱
