My favorite writing tool is the Emotion Thesaurus! It helps me sort out how to show how character feels.

I also like read aloud tools so I can hear how words actually sound.

Fortitude’s Prize by Ceril N Domace A sailing ship with a man in the rigging Flying toward a floating island and surrounded by flying fish Interlude 1 My first adventure on board the privateer Vulturnus, under Captain Mahaut Proulx, began when we were hired by the master of Fortitude Citadel to retrieve some of his stolen property. At the time, of course, we had no way of knowing what would come of this adventure, or perhaps Captain Proulx would’ve refused the letter of engagement despite the wishes of our engineers. The master of Fortitude Citadel, which was the largest and most profitable of the fortresses in the Flying Isles, is a person of great and noble stature. In ordinary circumstances, he never would’ve stooped to hire a crew such as ours. The Vulturnus was a fine ship, but the master had numerous larger and faster ships in his fleet. I have been led to believe that our hiring was a matter of chance, the whims of the oracle bones, and the desires of a mourning sister. In addition, the property that was stolen was of such worth that Master Thaddeus did not wish the theft to be widely known, and commissioning a vessel such as the Vulturnus would downplay the value of what had been taken. Knowing that the dangers associated with the voyage have now passed, readers would still be wise to remember that we had no way of knowing what would come of this adventure . . .

The Fae Queen’s Court series has a bunch of different types of monsters! Twelve different species with two subspecies each(some are attached). The plot of the series revolves around how the world views and treat Fae folk as monsters even when they weren't the ones acting monsterous.

The Fae Queen’s Court series has two species of "Angels"

The first is fae standard. The first generation were born human and became fae and their descendants develop larger wings and lungs, hollow bones, and better vision. They can also throw energy.

Battleborn angels are more biblical in nature.

I've got a bunch in the Fae Queen’s Court series! The catch is they're technically genetically modified humans, lol.

But over the course of three generations, specific families began to resemble mythological creatures like elves, dwarves, dragons, centaurs etc.

She thrust an arm out, and great towers of nothingness ripped through the ground, arching high into the sky. The husks, standing motionlessly behind her, fell to the ground as if she tore their very souls from them. “Traitor knight. You who left your brethren to fall at my hands. Face me.” Leon took a trembling step back. The gulf beckoned behind them. The Sister waited in front of them. The odds were not good in either direction. “Fuck off,” he shouted, far braver than he felt.
