The order confirmation (the branding was indistinguishable) and shipping tracking notifications. When I went back and looked at the urls and my credit card it was obvious. It was run through a random optician’s credit card account in N. France so I think the power of La République has been engaged

Not ashamed to say I watched a Lidl/Parkview FB ad featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger (which I believe was legit) and started getting ads for 1/2 price on the same power tool I’d been shopping for on FB marketplace and elsewhere. In hindsight was obvious. At the time, just janky Chinese online shopping

The scam is so common that France’s anti-scam agency has an online form to facilitate reporting it, as does my bank.
