Our PBA offers training on the Central Coast (typically open to anyone), and @ucanr.edu Fire Network is adapting a Rx Guidebook for California (originally created for the SE US where everyone burns) targeting private landowners and fire folks without a lot of experience. We’re getting there slowly!

Typically LEOs are exempt during shutdowns and still required to work a smaller team, but they generally only patrol the front country…

Great example! We need to find a way to fund home hardening and defensible space updates for those who can’t afford to do them on their on their own! Recent wildfires have shown us that entire neighborhoods need to transition to a more resilient state and that takes money and time… #fireresilient

It would help to have a way to focus funding on low income/underserved residents, but also those in CA who are property rich and cash poor who live in very high risk areas, which includes much of my Central Coast region.
