My boy likes to help me open boxes, especially when I'm holding a utility knife (!!!). He doesn't even wait to let me put the box on the floor before he tries getting in.

These are from inside my aunt & uncle's former house in Eldorado National Forest, CA, a little more than 2 years after a major fire burned through. The power went out from the storm, so a fireplace and lots of blankets kept us cozy. I took these photos from where I slept.

Yay, Judy! I met her when she was on the jr. high school district board and led our winning fight to bring back the fired band director. Later, she was our mayor. When we met, I learned she played flute in school, as I did then. I'm now outside her district, but I will always be proud of her. 💙💙💙💙💙

Go, Ducks! The Kings lost to the Flames last night, probably while players' homes burned. Ducks players are less likely to live in the fire areas. I'm a Ducks fan, but am sad for the Kings. I have plenty of friends affected by the fires. It's not easy.

World Food Kitchen was all over my Watch Duty app the past couple of days. They seem to have a major presence for these fires.

Thank you, first responders, for doing your best to save the homes of my Pasadena-area people. One lost his Altadena home. Others got to go back home or to not have to evacuate in the first place. I hope tomorrow morning brings more containment before the winds get bad again.

I temped on a Costco job site for the firm doing their project management & inspection. I got to meet a couple of guys from their construction team. They talked about things Costco did for their store employees. It sounded like a good retail job. I feel they care about their people.

Before Bruce returned to Maiden, people didn't like his replacement (can't remember his name at the moment), but he was in the 1st time I saw them live. It was still an amazing, tight show. Each time I've seen them since, it was always a good show.

Oh, nice! I love QR (at least with Geoff Tate - I haven't heard the new guy) and like DT. It makes sense that an opera house would make them sound even better. I'll have to check out the Stryper song when I have a chance.

A friend of mine is the one and only brother of the bassist (among a bunch of sisters), although I never had a chance to meet Tim. Steve is also a bassist, as well as a vocalist, but got into the harder stuff (power metal/speed metal). Good guy.
